All of these patients were operated to remove cataracts. This was just before the bandages were removed and the doctors checked up on their sight.
This eye clinic was held at a village called Chia. This was one of the younger patients being tested.
Eye clinics were also held in villages, this one was at Mpenya. Visual tests are firstly performed to determine how well the person can see before further screening is performed to identify cataract patients. This person is performing a visual test where one eye is closed to determine how well his left eye can see.
This old lady was led by her guardian to the hospital in Vila Ulongwe, Mozambique, where one of the eye clinics was held. The guardians come along to take care and cook for the patients.
I joined a team of doctors for an eye clinic outreach in Mozambique. Our flight from Johannesburg landed in Lilongwe, Malawi, from where we drove to Vila Ulongwe in Mozambique. This photo was taken along the way in Malawi.

The guineafowl are native to Africa, but the Helmeted Guineafowl has been domesticated, and both feral and wild-type birds have been introduced elsewhere (Wiki). This one was photographed at the Mokala Nature reserve in the Northern Cape.

Associated with the coral reefs of the western and eastern Atlantic and Indo-Pacific, the hawkfish family contains 12 genera and 32 species. Most hawkfish are solitary in nature but some will form pairs and share a head of coral (Wkik).

Usually when we travel to Umkomaas to go diving, we never stop to view the scenery, as we just want to reach our destination. However, on this particular trip I could not resist to photograph the beautiful sunset.
Shopping at night, we do come across some interesting stalls. This little shop in Hoi An, Vietnam, only sold lanterns. The bright colors immediately caught my attention.
